Djungarian hamster carries out 6-20g excrement and 4-5ml urine during the first.

Since there is a possibility of becoming sick when excrement is neglected, the general cleaning of a cage is required in at least one month at once.

The time of summer and a rainy season, since food rots or it is filled with humidity, the inside of a cage tends to become insanitary. This season carries out general cleaning about 3 times per month according to the situation of a cage.

It is better to exchange all flooring materials every week, if the hamster which does not remember the place of the toilet is kept. Since my hamster did not make urine one place, I was exchanging flooring materials once at one week.

Although excrement does not have a smell, if it observes, it is understood that a lot of excrement is scattered in a cage. Since a hamster does not excrete excrement to one place, removing these by daily cleaning requires time and effort.
Probably, it will be better to exchange all flooring materials periodically and to remove excrement at a stretch.

●The way of usual cleaning.

1.A flooring material and toilet sand.
There will be an intense smell, if a hamster urinates at places other than a toilet.
Let's look for a damp flooring material and remove the portion.
If a flooring material decreases, please fill up a new flooring material.
If it is urinating in the toilet, please remove unclean toilet sand.

2. About the house of a hamster.
A hamster has the habit of saving food in a nest.

If there is food which rotted in the nest, since it is insanitary, please remove this.

Moreover, since excrement is excreted in the nest, let's also remove these.

3. About a water supply machine.
Please exchange water every day.
It is because the inside of a water supply machine may become dirty from scale.

4. About a pipe.
If a pipe for a hamster to use as a playground is installed , He comes to have a meal in this pipe.
For this reason, dregs and excrement collect rapidly in the pipe and it becomes insanitary.
Water is collected to a washroom, and if a pipe is sunk and rinsed in this, garbage can be taken easily.
